In Pakistan, where discussions on menstrual health hygiene are a taboo topic, it creates problems in women’s lives. In some rural areas, menstrual hygiene issues for women and girls have worsened, compromising their health, dignity, and well-being due to supply chain issues and poor facilities.
HANDS Welfare Foundation works in the health sector to ensure every woman receives complete health hygiene. In collaboration with the MHM Provincial Secretariat Balochistan and UNICEF, HANDS Pakistan conducted a policy dialogue on menstrual health hygiene tax exemption with parliamentarians and government officials in Quetta.
Education Minister Ms. Rahila Durrani, Member of the National Assembly Ms. Pullain Baloch, Member of the Provincial Assembly Mr. Rehmat Saleh, Secretary of Planning and Development Mr. Abdullah Khan, and representatives from the Federal Board of Revenue, education and health sectors, and civil society organizations participated in the event.
