Dr. Saeed Ismail
President
Dr. Saeed Ismail did his MBBS from Dow Medical College Karachi in 1983 and received his MCPS in pediatrics from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan in 1986. He received his MBA from IBA and the Pakistan Institute of Management in 2007, specializing in Human Resource Management and Marketing. Fellow of SEDC LUMS with training as a Master Trainer in People and Organization Management. Fellow of LEAD with training in Leadership and Environment issues from LEAD International. Dr. Saeed Ismail, the distinguished co-founder and Chairman of the HANDS Governing Board, is a stalwart in the field of healthcare and community service. Renowned for his leadership in conducting workshops on primary healthcare and community mobilization, Dr. Ismail’s impact transcends HANDS. He is the visionary Founder and Executive Director of the Society for Children with Autism and Learning Differences (SCALED) and the Pakistan Centre for Autism. As a dedicated philanthropist, he lends his expertise as a Member of Kiran Foundation, Noor e Ali Trust (overseeing JS Academy for Deaf), and the Managing Committee of the Central Lab at Civil Hospital Karachi. Dr. Ismail’s commitment to healthcare is further exemplified by his role as the Executive Director of Baanhn Beli from 1983 to 2007, and presently, as a full-time Consultant Pediatrician at Aga Khan University Hospital. His multifaceted contributions make him an indispensable leader in our pursuit of holistic development.

Ali Hussain Brohi
General Secretary
Mr. Ali Hussain Brohi, an accomplished professional and Advisor to Banking Mohtasib Karachi, brings a wealth of financial expertise to his credit. Holding the esteemed status of an Associate Member at The Institute of Bankers Pakistan and armed with an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration, he is a stalwart in the banking industry. Currently serving on the Board of Directors for Security Papers Ltd., SICPA Inks Pakistan Pvt. Ltd, and Pakistan Security Printing Corp. Ltd, Mr. Brohi has demonstrated his strategic acumen. His previous role as Head-South Region at the State Bank of Pakistan and Ex. CEO & Executive Director at Security Paper Ltd underscores his extensive experience and leadership in the financial sector.

Dr. Shaikh Tanveer Ahmed

Dr. Shaikh Tanveer Ahmed, the Chief Executive of HANDS, has been an integral part of HANDS since 1994, bringing three decades of profound experience in the development sector to his role. His leadership is marked by strong management and technical skills applicable across private and public sector organizations. Dr. Tanveer excels in Long-Term and Short Strategic Program planning, Policy Implementation, and the facilitation of monitoring, evaluation, training, reporting, project proposal writing, and research. As a proven leader, he has achieved notable success in project proposal writing, fundraising, and establishing key networks with stakeholders, including donors, government entities, UN Agencies, NGOs, and private institutions. Dr. Tanveer’s international presence is highlighted by over 30 papers presented at conferences worldwide, and he has produced 53 publications addressing Development and Public health issues. His literary contributions include authored books such as “9 Mindsets of Leadership” (English), “Meer-e-Karwan” (Urdu), and “Sarwan” (Sindhi), reflecting his diverse talents and commitment to holistic development.

Ghulam Hussain Baloch
Finance Secretary
Mr. Ghulam Husain Baloch is one of the founding members of HANDS. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics. He is a Senior Member of the Sindh Graduate Association and a member of the Board of Sindh Madrasa. Previously, he served as the Chairman of Wadela Balouch Welfare Organization and was a member of the Social Welfare Committee of district East for many years. With comprehensive experience in community development, he has undertaken remarkable efforts in engaging youth. He established the LAL 11 Football Club and Alqasim Cricket Club at Dur Muhammad Village, District Malir.
