Professor Abdul Gaffar Billoo is the founder/father of HANDS and served as the chairperson of the governing board from inception to 2019. He is a philanthropist and has been associated with these services since 1975. He is a renowned pediatrician in Pakistan. He received his Diploma in Child Health, Tropical Medicine, and Hygiene from the United Kingdom in 1962. He qualified for his MRCP and FRCP and was appointed a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1986. He was awarded the Sitara e-Imtiaz for public services, the most prestigious civilian award, in March 2007. He was the former Professor of Pediatrics & Head of the Department of Pediatrics at Dow Medical & Civil Hospital Karachi, and Dean Faculty of Medicine, University of Karachi. Currently, he is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Child Health and Professor Emeritus at Aga Khan University Hospital & Consultant Pediatrician.

Dr. Shaikh Tanveer Ahmed is the Chairman of HANDS Welfare Foundation and associated with HANDS since 1994. He has 30 years’ extensive experience in the development sector and has a grip over management and technical skills in both private and public sector organizations. He obtained his Master’s in Public Health (MPH) from the University of Karachi, M.B.B.S from DOW Medical College & Civil Hospital Karachi and Training for Diploma in Child from Department of Pediatrics DOW Medical College, fellowship in Reproductive Health and Family Planning Program from Public Health Institute Santa Cruz, University of California, Berkley. His expertise in Long Term and Short Strategic Program planning and Policy Implementation, Facilitation in monitoring, evaluation, training, reporting, project proposal writing and research speaks of the success in the organization he has hitherto worked with. So far, his excellence in project proposal writings and fundraising & networking with donors, government, UN Agencies, NGOs, and private institutions has always been outstanding.

Mr. Ali Hussain Brohi received his MBA from the Institute of Business Administration. He is an Associate Member of The Institute of Bankers Pakistan. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors at Security Papers Ltd., SICPA Inks Pakistan Pvt. Ltd, and Pakistan Security Printing Corp. Ltd. Previously, Mr. Brohi was employed as Head-South Region by the State Bank of Pakistan and served as the Ex. CEO & Executive Director at Security Paper Ltd.

Dr. Saeed Ismail obtained his MBBS from Dow Medical College Karachi in 1983 and his MCPS in Pediatrics from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan in 1986. He completed his MBA from IBA and the Pakistan Institute of Management in 2007 with a specialization in HR and Marketing. He is a Fellow of SEDC LUMS. He is also Fellow of LEAD, trained in Leadership and Environment issues from LEAD International. Dr. Saeed is Co-founder and former Chairman of HANDS, he is the Founder and Chairman of the Society for Children with Autism and Learning Differences (SCALED) & the Pakistan Centre for Autism. He is also a member of Kiran Foundation, a member of Noor e Ali Trust running JS Academy for Deaf, and a member of the Managing Committee of the Central Lab of Civil Hospital Karachi. Currently, he is Consultant Pediatrician at Aga Khan University Hospital (For Agha Khan Diagnostic Centre and Agha Khan Hospital for Women and Children Kharadar)

Mr. Ghulam Husain Baloch is one of the founding members of HANDS. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics. He is a Senior Member of the Sindh Graduate Association and a member of the Board of Sindh Madrasa. Previously, he served as the Chairman of Wadela Balouch Welfare Organization and was a member of the Social Welfare Committee of district East for many years. With comprehensive experience in community development, he has undertaken remarkable efforts in engaging youth. He established the LAL 11 Football Club and Alqasim Cricket Club at Dur Muhammad Village, District Malir.

He is the Chairman of the Tabani Group of Companies—a highly reputed conglomerate with deep-rooted interests across multiple sectors, including Oil and Gas, Defense, Railway, Aviation, IT, and Construction.Under his dynamic leadership, the Tabani Group pursued aggressive business diversification, expanding its footprint into new sectors. Recognizing the growing demand for modern infrastructure and housing, he ventured into construction and development under the brand name Al-Khaleej Builders and Developers. In recognition of its outstanding contributions to the Gas & Power sector, the Tabani Group was honored with the 9th FPCCI Achievement Award, presented by H.E. Dr. Arif Alvi, President of Pakistan. Mr. Fazal Karim Dadabhoy is regarded as one of Pakistan’s pioneering industrialists and hails from a distinguished business family. He possesses extensive experience and academic qualifications in Management, Economics, and Business Administration. He has been serving as the Managing Director of the M.H. Dadabhoy Group of Companies for the past 20 years, leading the organization with notable independence and vision.He earned his BBA degree from Southeastern University (Greenwich Institute, Washington, DC). In recognition of his contributions to industrial research, foreign investment, business development, and public service, DHA Suffa University, Karachi, awarded him an honorary Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).In acknowledgment of his exceptional services to Pakistan’s industrial sector and philanthropic efforts, the Government of Pakistan conferred upon him the prestigious Tamgha-e-Imtiaz. The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation further honored him by naming a road—Fazal Karim Dadabhoy Road—after him. Mr. Hamza is a seasoned business professional with over 20 years of demonstrated history of managing and growing businesses across multiple industries, including FMCG, food manufacturing, building materials and Islamic finance.He is the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Unifood Industries Ltd., manufacturers of award winning confectionary brand ‘Good Goodies’. He has previously served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Sind Particle Board Mills Ltd, dedicating more than a decade of his career to the building material manufacturing industry. Mr. Hamza has also served as Director on Boards of various Public and Private Limited Companies including Faran Sugar Mills Ltd., Reliance Insurance Company Ltd., and B.F. Modaraba.Mr. Hamza holds BBA and MBA degree in Marketing and Finance obtained from IBA, Karachi and is also a Certified Director from Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance.

Danish Aman is a dynamic business leader with more than two decades of experience in Pakistan’s leather industry. Under his leadership, Hafiz Tanneries has evolved into one of the country’s leading leather manufacturers and exporters, producing over 2 million sq. ft. of finished leather and 50,000 leather garments per month. His strategic emphasis on research and development, marketing, and international partnerships has enabled the company to collaborate with renowned global brands across the EU, USA, UK, Canada, and Russia. He pursued his studies in Business Administration in the United States in 2004.

Beyond his business achievements, Danish Aman is deeply committed to social welfare and community development. He founded the Saturday Welfare Group, which has supported thousands of vulnerable families through heatwave response initiatives, ration and Iftar drives, water supply projects, orphanage support, and humanitarian assistance across Sindh, Balochistan, and other regions of Pakistan.

He works in close coordination with public institutions and civil society organizations and has served in multiple leadership and advisory capacities with Rotary, FPCCI, IBA, NDU, and various community and civic forums. Zahid Hameed is a dynamic business leader and entrepreneur with over two decades of experience in the apparel and textile industry. He is the Founder and CEO of Apparel Zone Company and holds an MBA (Finance) from Southeastern University and a BBA (Marketing) from the same university. Under his leadership, Apparel Zone Company has grown into a reputable name in woven and knitted garment manufacturing.
As Founder & CEO of Apparel Zone Company, based in the Korangi Industrial Area, Karachi, he has built and scaled a successful garment manufacturing and export enterprise, achieving multi-million-dollar annual exports to major U.S. retailers, with a strong presence in both private-label and own-brand apparel.
