HANDS Pakistan with the support of USAID Pakistan and in collaboration with the Local Sindh Government, successfully launched the Management Information System (MIS) for the Municipal Committee of Jacobabad under the Water Governance for Sindh Activity. The Management Information System will enhance water supply management, wastewater handling, and solid waste services in Jacobabad.
Mr. Khalid Hyder Shah, Additional Chief Secretary of the Local Government Department of Sindh; Ms. Amy Hood, Deputy Council General of USAID; MPA Halar Wassan; MPA Mazahir Amir; MPA Sajjad Soomro; MPA Jamal Ahmed; and Ms. Cindy Kunther, Chief of WASH & Climate Change at UNICEF Pakistan, graced the event with their presence.
Dr. Shaikh Tanveer Ahmed, Chief Executive of HANDS, delivered the opening remarks and introduced the MIS, while Dr. Hina Kazmi, Chief of Party for the WGS Activity, presented project updates. Maqbool Ahmed, Deputy Chief Executive of HANDS; Ahmed Dayo, Chief of WASH at HANDS; Syed Shakaib, Director General of MSDP; Rafiq Buledi, Chief Municipal Officer of Jacobabad; Syed Waseem Shah, HOD of WASH at HANDS; Kashif Ali Shoro, Mayor of Hyderabad; Dr. Muhammad Arshad Mughal, Deputy Mayor of Sukkur; and Dr. Kamran Ansari, Project Director of USPCAS-W, also shared their valuable insights.
WASH Caucus members, Mohalla WASH Committees, and School WASH Club members from Jacobabad showcased their models and achievements. Representatives from UN agencies, SHRRP, civil society organizations, and the media also attended, contributing to the success of the event.
