Dr. Shaikh Tanveer Ahmed, CEO of HANDS Foundation, welcomed a delegation from the McGovern-Dole Food for Education Program, USDA, including Ms. Meredith Porter (International Program Specialist, USDA Foreign Agricultural Service), Ms. Sonjai Reynolds-Cooper (Director, Education Office, USAID Pakistan), Mr. Lila Ram (Education Specialist, USAID Pakistan), and Mr. Rashid Raja (Agricultural Marketing Specialist, FAS-USDA Islamabad) at our HANDS EMO School, GHS Damba Village Karachi.
The purpose of the visit was to understand the challenges and opportunities in school feeding initiatives. The delegation toured classrooms and engaged with students and parents regarding their academic activities and food-related needs. A comprehensive meeting was also held with the School Management Committee to discuss challenges and suggestions. The team expressed satisfaction with the performance of the students and the structure of the EMO School.
